Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body and is sold either as plain L-glutamine or as the more soluble, more expensive derivatives such as N-acetyl L-glutamine and L-alanyl-L-glutamine (Sustamine). Plain unflavoured powder is by far the cheapest per gram, mixes into any drink and has a mild taste; capsules are the tidier option but need several to reach a typical 5g serving. Check whether products you already take include it — it appears in many post-workout and amino acid blends, and in some gut health formulas — before buying it separately.
